sus and chris called me

saturday night.

we got to talk for about 20 minutes!

I miss her so much.

that night I cried b/c I missed her so much.

1. she did a homestay thing for a couple weeks

you ride a bus to a village, then stay the night with some

family in the village, then trek about 4-5miles

@ 5,000 Meters elevation (15,000ft), then

stop at another village and keep doing that

pattern for however long you want.

2. she did this with a couple from

canada that had been traveling for 7mo.

and with another guy from Switzerland.

3. they arrived back in Leh (i think).

4. this week they are taking a flight to New Delhi,

then off to the Taj Mahal

5. then to Calcutta

6. she is getting sick from the food, but it's okay.

she's thrown up a couple times. boo :(.

7. they miss us, esp after the home stay and home

cooked food :(.

8. they are having lots of fun!

9. i asked if she could do 3 more months and she said yup!

10. i can't remember what else.

I flew out to Oklahoma Friday at about 10:00am

Susanne met me at the airport with Sophie.

It was pretty crazy b/c I get a call from the cousin lauren, as i am waiting for sus

she is yelling into the phone that she can see me, and she in under the SW sign!

She was picing up her friend katie, and we happened to be there at the same time!

it was cool, b/c then i got to see baby ben!!!!

anyways, susanne, lo, ben, sophie, and i hung out for about 10 minutes!

we all went to 501 cafe: susanne, sophie, sister sus, and me
sophie had pulled her pony tail thing out and had a crazy mohawk!!!!

we went to the park afterwards, and she was just having a blast.

i musta brought the warm CO air with me, b/c it was about 70 degrees!

(wait how do they live in vans, but not drive, sus... hmmm?),

and they don't eat out. Those are the only criteria that make up

a hippie, according to sus. But she lives in one room (like a van),

only drives b/c she lives in Okla, and doesn't hardly ever eat out.

she is a total hippie.

I mean c'mon, we made homemade hummus and pitas for dinner.

sunday 3.2.08

at gram's after church, Lo and ben

ben LOVES all sports, watching with his papa brad

at 4pm sus and i headed out to the airport

but first we stopped at the froese's

to see laura (it's her bday today, she's old), andy, tucker, and yoda

see their blog for the Goodle tucker (it's really a golden doodle, but

it just makes more sense to shorten it to Goodle)

and yoda is a white mini schnauzer

tucker is the funiiest dog that you ever did see

i could stare at him for hours

and yoda hates me.

we did not take any pics, b/c we left our stuff in the car

as to not contaminate anything (laura has the flu)

then we stopped by Sauced in OKC

it is a cute pizza/coffee/alcohol/artist place

cool atmosphere (pic without flash, which suits the coffee shop)

Then we look, and there is massive amts of lightning

and we had been talking to cameron all day

about my flight being delayed (there was about 3in of snow in denver)

and it had been delayed from 7:30 to 9:40

and then when sus dropped me off

delayed until 10:18, but they swore it was still gonna come.

then it got delayed til 11:30

then 12:00am

then 12:30am

then 1:18am

and the plane got in to okc about 12:50am and

we boarded and left about 1:30am

poor cam had to wait up for me so he oculd pick me up.

we got into bed at 3am, and he woke up for class at 7am.

but i am back and it feels good to be home.

Weird date today huh?

I got to talk with sus for a few minutes today! It was 6pm there and 10am here!

She was at Lauren's friend'd Aunt's house in Spain.

Her name is Susie!

She and her husband run an acorn fed pig farm!

Sus and Chris ate some pork and said it was delish!

They rode horses to see the pig farm too!

They love hanging out with Susie b/c it's like home they said.

I talked to sus on the phone (well on the internet phone) yesterday and it was awesome!!! She's doing great, eating lots of food, buying painted seashells from little spanish kids at the beach, chris was making shooting noises on the phone to make me scared, they are going to lauren's friend's aunts pig farm tonight!!! They are excited and they wish they had more time in each place. the thing they miss the most about the states is: renting movies.

Pottery class tonight!!!!! cam leaves for norman tomorrow to see his fam. Blake bought a mini schnauzer and naming him Scout!!! I am starting a knitting project!!! I have to work tomorrow boo, but i get time and a half!!!!

Full after we made sushi and choc covered strawberries and ate a picnic on the porch before the thunderstorm! It was soooo yummy! Saturday afternoon we made a picnic at the KU campus and it was delish and veggie (fried plantains and blackbeans rolled in a tortilla)

Looking high. It was jasmine flavored tobacco, and it was awesome.

Chris got rosewater lemonade and we got hummus (shout out to Lo) and pitas!

Going to The Merc (a natural food store). We walked on Mass street and browsed in shops. Sus found the perfect brown dress for her Europe trip (she will basically only wear the brown dress all throughout her travels!). We got some sinus tea for Cam ad some pistacios for us. We had breakfast/Brunch at i forgot what it was called, but i had some amazing french toast and tea. Sus had a mediterranean omlet (delish) and chris bless his heart got veggetarean biscuits and sausage gravy...tasted like a pot pie.

Sus, Chris, and I ate a snack at a little mexican place and had margaritas. Later that night we babysat 2 little girls that were oh so cute! Then Saturday Morning Sus and I cleaned her car out and got around 5 sacks full of trash and or toiletries :). We also went to the farmers market and got roasted corn on the cob!!!!

We had so much fun and I didn't want to leave, but Chris had to get his portfolio ready for his art show this weekend and finish stuff for finals. Sus took me to the airport during a crazy downpour. But she and I made it back safely!

Yeah for sisters!
