our broccoli plant leaves had small holes in them.
something is eating them.
i asked the lady at the local garden store (not home depot or lowes).
and she said i needed a praying mantis.
so i bought a container which had 2 "nests"
and it's supposed to hatch 200-400 (holy crap) manti
what i didnt know, is that they can reach 6 inches long.
honestly if i see a freaking mantis 6 inches long, i will freak out and run for my life.
the container
cameron preparing the nest
we had to hang the nest 1 foot off the ground

i should have taken a before/during/almost after
b/c i have been weeding the yard for 2 days now.
yesterday for 8 hours + cameron's 4 hours
then today for 4 hours (but then it started raining).
but the whole yard was weeds, and our poor grass couldnt grow.
so cameron and i set out on a weed picking journey.
and we are making great headway.
we actually need to step on it, b/c we want the yard looking good before
4pm on saturday for our bbq.
but it looks great in the areas with no weeds :)

on another note, lauren said it well in this post
they have been gone 1.5 weeks
and it's getting weird for me not being able to talk to her :(.
i've already sent a letter and a package.
it's only 98 cents for an intl stamp... who knew?
