we don't know what happened, and it could be several more months

for toxicology to come back. how come they can always solve everything in 1 hour on tv?

sus and i, with the amazing help of our family, were able to plan and have the funeral, clean the house out (which was pretty easy since maggie stole everything), and put the house on the market. we had lots of meetings. we were well taken care of by family, friends, and neighbors. thank you to anyone who sent cards, texts, called, brought food, or cried/laughed with us. the memory of dad will surely live on. 

dad came to visit

last week my dad came to visit!

he's doing great, and we had a blast!

he drove in tuesday

and we went to eat burgers at Cherry Cricket

then hung out at our house

wednesday morning we went to eat crepes

then headed to the mall

to pick up an easter dress for Hazel

(and a teddy bear)

then had dinner with lauren and caleb

at illegal petes

Thursday we had Duffy rolls

and then daddy headed home

-

it was a great visit!

june 1977

june of 1977, dad was in a really bad car wreck.

these are pics i found at gram's house.

it made me sick to see them;

knowing my dad was in that car.

but he survived, thank God.

he was in this partial cast, but had been in an almost full

body cast... it was from mid-abdomen to thighs i think.

he had broken his back, ruptured his spleen, popped his lung,

and shoot, a whole bunch of other stuff. but it was pretty crazy.
